Were you outraged? I will sell you a brand new one, with gold-plated pins, in the original bag that is equal quality, probably made by the same manufacturer in China. Yes, it can be used on a TV, but it is only six feet long and does not transfer sound so it is not recommended. The connector is male like the yellow image. If you have the matching female socket on your video card and on your new Flat Panel monitor, this is your cable.
